What is LunaScura?

Translated from Italian, Luna Scura means "dark moon." It is a reference to both my maiden name and my Italian heritage as well as the New Moon, a lunar phase when the Moon disappears from the night sky. I find this phase to be highly symbolic, a time of darkness just before the Moon is reborn and begins a new cycle of phases. It reminds me of the cycle of my own life and the importance for an artist to continually reinvent herself.
